A while ago, I wrote a book called, Violet Bing and the Grand House and had a wonderful time sharing it. The story was a long time coming with characters and things I still return to regularly in my pictures - like the girl, the Dog, and the house. Click here or on the Dog to see more drawings from the book.
About Violet Bing
Saying “no” is not uncommon for Violet. She has said “no” to pancakes because they were bumpy; she has said “no” to swimming, to piano, and to eating out. But never to anything this big. . . .
Violet has refused the family vacation. And because she refused, she has been sent to stay with her great-aunt Astrid, who she’s never even met. Violet thinks she won’t like The Grand House. She generally doesn’t like Surprises or Things She Doesn’t Know. But with some help from a smart dog, a new friend, and an old diary, Violet discovers that life is much more interesting when new things happen, and that she is, in fact, the right kind of person for an Adventure.
